stay self motivated

(loosely fitting H&M top, Zara belt, limited edition Frankie B Mine jeans, Cathy Dang bracelets, Forever 21 triple finger gold ring, & Jeffrey Campbell Fords)

Viento y Agua Cafe & Gallery is such a serene spot to study at or share good conversations over a cup of sense refreshing tea or healthy vegetarian bites! Only thing is, I wish this place opened late into the night instead of closing at 8:00 p.m. so that I could just coop up and study my brain out here. Staff is super friendly and, yes, it's pretty much your local hipster cafe in the LA County. I love cafes that proudly boast the works of local artists in support of never-ending inspirational creativity. Yay!

Yeah, so with burgundy being one of my favorite colors, I decided to keep these three years old, limited edition Frankie B jeans instead of selling them off to a trade&sell business. Why?
Well, even though I rarely EVER wear jeans anymore, I personally believe that every girl needs to keep herself a pair of her favorite old jeans to try on from time to time. This has nothing to do with any traveling pants of sisterhood, swear. The jeans serve as a major self reminder to
STAY IN SHAPE and BE HEALTHY.
Whenever these jeans become too small for me, I am automatically motivated to work out and slim back down into my ideal size.
A year ago, I did not fit them... but I do now!

Dear Readers,
for the love of yourself...
STAY SELF MOTIVATED!

If you haven't already heard, Oh Land is amazing. <3

classy rides via classy girl

(UCI flea market sunglasses, Clairs snake bracelet, Ebay chain rings, Forever21 olive romper, Foreign Exchange necklace, Wild Pair leopard heels)

You can't live in Southern California without taking up the great classic cars displayed variously in most of our counties. Living in SoCal all my life, I wanted to do a shoot that pertained to my interests, one of which being the hip fashion, rides, and trendy free spirits of the 60's-70's generations! With that in mind, I got Brian to cooperate with me in coming here to take some fashion shots against some classic cars. This was a rather interesting shoot as they typically don't like visitors getting all up on their cars like I did... heh.
Never the less, I love taking risks for the sake of creating cool photos!

awake when September ends

(UCI flea market sunglasses, H&M scarf, Old Navy top, Zara leggings, Zara black wedge booties)

While I play with Polaroids and Instax film, Christopher plays with rolls of film, straight up. He informed me that most places that develop film, like target, walmart, etc, are actually considering putting an end to film prints since digital prints have taken over the world. Does this mean that film will eventually go extinct and expire like the Polaroid did? Hmmm...

Anyway, I've missed a whole month of blogging. Holy!
Well in the past month, structure welcomed itself back into my life as summer said its goodbyes. With school, work, and internships to juggle, I found it a little complicated to update anything. Also, with my photographers moving around, it's been hard to get any work done.

Enough with the excuses, HELLO AUTUMN!
I'm excited for the season of layering, scarves, oversized comforts, boots, gloves,
and all that's worth FALLing for.

desert oasis

I recently got the opportunity of working with the amazing Mr. Brian Bustos!  He's simply superb (for lack of better words) at what he does... We roamed this fabulous location that he chose after I told him about my styling idea for this shoot that I just had to have specifically him do. He claimed that such scenery would make my attire pop out and, boy, was he right. Talk about having the "camera eye." I ended up loving practically all of his edited results and had a hard time choosing which ones to post on my blog. Thus, please excuse the excessive collection of photos here...

Anyway, I highly recommend working with him as he's professional, highly cooperative, dedicated, and quick with responses. Just above, I've linked his upcoming website for anyone interested in getting some sweet retro/urban vibe photos. You won't be disappointed. Trust.
